Montpellier, January 8th, 2024 – Quantum Surgical will attend the Spectrum conference held in Miami on January 11-14 2024, dedicated to top oncology KOLs. Quantum Surgical will present its Epione® robotic ablation platform and organize its first symposium and lead a master course along two industry-leading medical device providers. Two world-renowned interventional radiologists will share their robotic experience during the sessions: Dr. Govindarajan Naranayan (Miami, USA) and Pr. Thierry De Baère (Gustave Roussy, France).
French medical robotics company Quantum Surgical will take part in the Spectrum conference, which brings together top oncology KOLs and offers attendees a comprehensive review of a variety of oncological diseases, combined with the latest developments in medical, interventional and surgical therapeutic options across multiple disciplines.
Quantum Surgical will thus present its Epione® robotic platform dedicated to the early and curative treatment of tumors during the event held in Miami on January 11-14 during 2 major sessions with 2 world-renowned users of Epione®: Dr. Govindarajan Narayanan (Miami, USA) and Pr. Thierry de Baère (Gustave Roussy, France).
- Quantum Surgical will host its first symposium: “Epione® Goes Global: Interventional Oncology Robotics Experience at World-Renowned Cancer Institutions”. The speakers will share their experience with robotics in their clinical practice and how their institutions have successfully adopted this disruptive technology.
The lunch symposium will be organized on Saturday, January 13th, 12:35pm – 1:10pm
- An ablation master course will enable the 2 experts to deep dive into the Epione® solution in more technical details. They will cover the following topics:
- Changes to the workflow with robotics
- How to perform robotic assisted microwave ablations
- How to perform multi-needle ablations with robotic assistance
- Making the case for robotics with the administration
- Case reviews with tips and tricks
This full day class will also cover ablation technologies (MWA, IRE, and Cryo) and include hands-on device and robot experience.
The master course will take place on Sunday, January 14th, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Epione® is a robot-assisted technology that allows physicians to perform safe and effective percutaneous tumor ablations, a minimally invasive treatment in which one or more needles are inserted through the skin to the tumor to destroy it.
Epione® is CE marked in Europe for abdomen and lung tumors, and FDA cleared for abdominal tumors. Epione® is currently used at the Gustave Roussy Cancer Center in Villejuif, as well as at the Hospices Civils de Lyon and in Miami. Hundreds of patients have already been treated worldwide.
