Job Summary

Applied Machine Learning Engineer H/F

Quantum Surgical is looking for an Applied Machine Learning Engineer H/F to join a team of creative and energetic engineers who are building the next generation of smart tools for minimally invasive therapies.

The Applied Machine Learning Engineer will play a key role in the design and integration of groundbreaking technologies in a robotized platform dedicated to cancer treatment. He will be working closely with engineers to create real-life problem-solving solutions combining Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing.

The candidate ideally has a demonstrated experience with early stage product development, cross-functional teams and technology development in an industrial environment.


Key Responsabilities
  • Prototype, train and test existing state-of-art machine learning methods proposed by the data scientist.
  • Partner closely with data engineers and communicate modeling decisions resulting in cross-functional teams effectively using data-driven approaches.
  • Create and maintain the AI software library of the scientific team.
  • Perform Technological watching about machine learning tools potentially providing significant improvements in accuracy and computational performances. Establish survey reports in the technological field.
  • Communicate clearly on results, limitations and improvements of the implemented methods.
  • Interact with the system engineering team and the software development team to ensure proper technology assessment and integration.
  • Participate to data collection, qualification and structuration.


Experience and Qualifications
  • PhD or MSc. in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in machine learning, data mining, image processing, information retrieval, or statistical analysis.
  • Experience working with at least one of the following popular machine learning frameworks/libraries: tensorflow, pytorch, caffe, keras, theano, cntk.
  • Proficiency in Python and computer science libraries.
  • Knowledge in C / C++ (prototyping).
  • Strong mathematical and computer science skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, curious and open-minded.
